2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. We bought this carseat last weekend for our 10 week old daughter. She seemed like she was getting uncomfortable in her Truly Scrumptious infant car seat, so we went in search of a convertible car seat that would fit in my 2012 Ford Focus hatchback. Although I feel like my car has plenty of room, maneuvering an infant carseat in and out of the backseat is nearly impossible without waking her up. Having something stationary ( even when she is so young ) was not an issue for me. This seat fits very well rear facing in my Focus, even when fully reclined. I can but both the driver and passenger seat Further back than I could with the infant seat! She seems very comfortable in it and seems to like sitting up higher (she can see out the window now). It is very cushy and the neoprene fabric seems to keep her cooler. I would definately recommend this carseat to anyone looking for a smaller convertible carseat that does not want to sacrifice quality or comfort.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.First off I love the plushness and cushion this seat has but I found it very hard to get a good seatbelt install. With latch is was easy but with the seat belt it had a terrible lean RF. my daughter HATES, HATES the wings. They rub up against her cheeks and she instead leans forward to hear whats going on. Her head is sandwiched in there pretty tight and she doesnt have a big head or anything like that. I just dont think its worth the money.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.I did a ton of research before making the big jump to buying a convertible car seat but the one I picked didn't fit in my Ford Focus. Frustrated, I picked another online that had decent reviews without seeing it, I was not impressed and returned that as well. Finally, I got this seat and I am happy I did- third time's a charm!PROS:-The fabric is super soft and cozy.-The seat is by FAR, the most padded and cushy of every single seat I touched at both Babies R Us and BuyBuyBaby. It is definitely going to be cozy for my little girl on both long and short car rides.-Shoulder straps have padding so they don't dig into baby's neck and even the buckle has padding around it!-Easy to tighten and loosen the harness.-My husband installed it easily within a few minutes.-Fits well in our Ford Focus and allows me (5'6'' to comfortably sit in the passenger seat still.CONS:-Any wetness (drool, sippy cup drips, etc) leaves a mark. I haven't attempted to clean it yet but it seems like they are just watermarks not stains and will come out.Overall- A great seat for the price- a little more than I originally wanted to spend but worth every penny because it is worlds better than the seats in the $150-200 range.

4 of 5 people found the following review helpful.Bought this car seat for my 2.5 year old to give her more leg room to rear face longer. (NHSTA recommends until your child turns 4: [...]). She was complaining in her previous car seat about being "stuck". The Pria gives her plenty of leg room (she mostly sits "criss cross..") and she loves how it feels. It also gives her more of a view out of the car. It was relatively easy to install. The only issue we had was moving the LATCH strap from forward facing position to rear facing position. You have to undo the car seat cover and move the strap down (not in the manual). Once we figured it out, the install went well. The fabric feels like neoprene and there is plenty of cushion. She fell asleep in the car seat the first week, which she had not done in months. This is a good option for anyone looking to ERF.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.Being a new Mom, I heavily researched all of my baby item purchases, but none more than the car seat. I love everything about this seat. The 5 point harness is easy to put on and take off, and the headrest full of air is soooo comfortable. The small baby insert fits my little guy wonderfully. It is like having my baby protected in a tank. The only thing that it is missing is a missal launcher :)My little one (3 months old) looks so cozy and most importantly safe in this seat. He loves it!It is ideal for the hot climate that I live in because the fabric wicks heat and moisture from the babyA+++++ car seat

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.I purchased this car seat to use in my fathers car for my son (8 months) and i absolutely love it. It's very comfy and fluffy. He hardly cries in it and seems very safe. I'm currently using another maxi-cosi infant seat for my car and was going to just pull the pria 70 from my fathers car but instead i'll just be purchasing another one. It does stain easily, as his other maxi-cosi did too and maxi-cosi stroller, but its so easy to clean and lets face it, theres absolutely no way to keep a car seat completely clean and spot free. Very happy with this car seat!

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. This seat is very comfortable and keeps considerably cool compared to the Britax Chaperone (Red) that we used before. We live in the tropics and we had to wait a considerable time for the air conditioning to cool down the car before we could put the baby in the Britax and even then she'd still end up sweating.I chose the Maxi-Cosi Pria 70 over the Britax Advocate and the Diono RXT mainly because I wanted to ensure my little one was as comfortable and cool as possible so we could keep her rear-facing longer. I think I made the right choice. Here are some of the factors I considered as well as some things I know now that I have the seat:HEAT - If keeping your baby cool is a major consideration then the fabric colour is the major factor. That's why I went with this lighter colour - Steel Grey. The downside is it has the potential to look worn quickly. And this colour doesn't pop out at you and say "brand new". The Maxi-Cosi has some pretty cool colour options but this and probably the tan are the only light colour options. Btw - this seat really does stay very cool!SAFETY - If safety is your only consideration then I'd choose the Britax Advocate. (All car seats that pass NHTSA Tests are fine. But who wants just fine for their baby? Just remember the most important thing is installing it and strapping the kid in properly)COMFORT - The fabric they use on the Maxi-Cosi Pria 70 is really well padded and soft. And if the seating on the Britax Advocate is made of same material as that on the Chaperone then it's not that comfortable and kind of rough to the touch. So Pria wins here by a landslide.SIZE:WIDTH - If you have to fit 3 car seats in the back seat (or 2 car seats and an adult) and you have either a car or a small SUV then you should consider a Diono. They're ugly, in my opinion, but when my family expands please God I will most likely be buying one for the eldest child when she outgrows the Maxi-Cosi.HEIGHT - The Maxi-Cosi is currently rear-facing and in the third recline position in order for the relevant line to be level with the floor. This is most likely because of the way the back seat of the car (Kia Sportage) is inclined. This is really advantageous for us as this seat is pretty tall and has the potential to block the view out the rear-view mirror. But in the 3rd recline position it's even shorter than the Britax Chaperone. Note here though that the Britax Chaperone had a couple of level instruments. So I spent over 15mins looking for the level on the Maxi-Cosi. Imagine my surprise when I realized that all they had was a line marked out on the frame itself. My husband and I laughed hysterically at the lack of basic technology and joked about sending the seat back. But I realized it's really only necessary to differentiate between which one of the three different recline positions is the best suited for your particular vehicle. So sophistication isn't really necessary. I think it's straight/level enough not to need a towel/noodle. Besides I wouldn't like to know the safety of my child depended on a rolled up towel/noodle.COST - The Diono RXT wins here because it has a higher weight limit. But I still recommend using an infant car seat at minimum for a newborn cause it fits them better. Did I mention that the Diono is ugly? Lol! But it's a great option.TOXICITY - All I'm going to say here is do your research as this may change with time as companies upgrade. From what I understand this is more an issue when the seat gets really hot. Hotter than normal operating conditions. However since I do live in a hot climate and there is the potential for the car seat to get hot this is also a consideration for me.FIT OF HARNESS ON CHILD - Tightening the straps is not as easy as on Britax Chaperone. And although there is a nice padded protector below the buckle, it's not big enough to protect against chaffing/rubbing from the connectors that snap into the buckle. Stupid! Additionally the buckle doesn't fall forward automatically like on the Diono. (The Britax Advocate may have this feature as well. The Chaperone didn't.) So the Maxi-Cosi loses here! But my child does not seem uncomfortable at all. And so far no signs of irritation/chaffing.SUMMARYThis was a really tough decision for me. If heat and size are not major considerations for you then the Britax Advocate is the best choice. (According to Consumers' Reports Britax has 5 of the 7 top convertible car seats)

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.I got this seat after returning a Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP 5-70 (gave it a two star review). I really hoped this was going to be as good as the reviews. I have two friends with this seat and they love it. My only hesitations were 1) reviews that the cover stained easily and was impossible/very difficult to remove and clean, and 2) that some people had issues with tightening and loosening the strap. I can't comment on the cleaning of the cover because we never got that far. I couldn't loosen the harness AT ALL when we first got it. My husband finally got it to loosen and I was able to get it to work for me by pulling and pulling with all my weight. Even then, I felt like the harness was just a smidge too loose but could not get it any tighter. So that is the big reason why we are returning the seat. But, I wasn't crazy about the seat anyway. As background, we have a Britax Marathon (old style), Britax Boulevard 70 CS (now known as the Pavilion), and Cosco highback booster with harness. We really like the Boulevard with the exception of 1) the lack of legroom rear facing and 2) the lack of cupholder (the Britax cupholder sold separately is not great either - keeps falling off). So we decided to try something new. Especially since the Peg Perego got great reviews for being great for small cars and Pria 70 got great reviews as being the coolest in hot weather and the most comfortable.Other than the tightening of the harness issue, I just feel the Britax is a superior car seat. The Britax is steel reinforced and easier to install (the only way we got the Pria to install properly was after watching a Youtube video that had additional instructions not in the manual). In addition, despite the rave reviews of the Pria's luxe fabric, it felt to me like polyester - reminded me something between a cheap 70s polyester suit and the fabric used for some lunch sacs. The plastic also felt thinner - when I pulled on the seat at the side to test for movement, the plastic gave way some while the Britax is thicker and did not give way. Also, the harness clip felt like flimsier plastic than the Britax and the buckle was VERY hard to unclip. In fact, other than the added padding, this seat seemed to be about the same quality as the $40 Cosco seat, but for $200 more. Since Cosco and Maxi Cosi are both Dorel companies, I think there is a good chance they are using the same materials (the harness clip is identical). So, for $250, I expected a lot more. Going back to Britax. For anyone considering this color, it is darker in person. As a side note, I am not crazy about the Cosco seat either and plan to replace it soon with a Britax Frontier 90.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful.Bought this convertible car seat for my 8 month old baby boy who was hating his infant car seat (chicco key fit 30). I wanted a car seat with grey fabric because I didn't want the seat to overheat in the summer sun. Installation was quick and our baby loves sitting in it. We have a Mazda 3 hatchback and it fit in the back seat with no issues. It's very padded with soft smooth fabric. He loved it. Glad that we splurged for this car seat.
