The new BRITAX FRONTIER 90 Combination Harness-2-Booster boasts the ground-breaking CLICKTIGHT Installation System combined with BRITAX’s leading Head Safety technologies. The FRONTIER 90 keeps your growing toddler safe and offers parents the peace of mind of a secure and easy car seat installation each and every time. CLICKTIGHT Installation System is an innovative technology that allows parents to easily achieve a safe and secure installation using a vehicle seat belt throughout the life of the seat, in harness mode, without having to worry about the weight of their child. The FRONTIER 90 offers a forward-facing, five-point harnessed weight capacity up to 90 pounds, with an industry-leading 20.5 inch shoulder harness height. The FRONTIER 90 also converts to a vehicle belt-positioning booster seat that can be used up to 120 pounds. The FRONTIER 90 incorporates BRITAX’s leading Head Safety technologies to protect your child during a crash by minimizing the forward movement of your child’s head during a frontal impact. Head Safety technologies include: Base with SafeCell Technology, Integrated Steel Bars, and Energy Absorbing Versa-Tether. The FRONTIER 90 offers BRITAX True Side Impact Protection for advanced protection during side impact crashes. True Side Impact Protection provides an extra layer of energy-absorbing EPP foam that contains your child’s head, neck and body, keeping them in “true” or aligned, during a crash. Comfort and convenience features include: a tangle-free, no-rethread five-point harness with an EZ-buckle system, a front-adjust recline, integrated cup holders and storage, multiple buckle positions, fixed armrests, comfort foam, and an easy-remove cover. May not be compatible with all vehicles. See user guide.

Both of the old seats performed as designed, and kept my kids safe during a nasty accident. Just got both of the new Frontier 90's installed, and road tested. The kids love them, and I like that Britax fixed the few minor problems from the Frontier 85. The Clicktight systems is great, and easy to use. The bottom cushion does not come unhooked like with the Frontier 85. Britax makes great car seats, and are well worth the money and piece of mind.

Even though she is 5, I was not ready for her to move up to a shoulder strap only seat due to my belief that kids should be harnessed for as long as possible. I did a lot of research and was intrigued by the click tight technology as well as the ability to harness her for much longer than other seats (58" Harness max!!). We have had this seat for a few weeks now and it is amazing! My daughter is tall but skinny for her age (40lbs and 48 inches tall) and this seat is a great fit. After about a week she was able to get herself in and out of the harness without assistance (only needing me to pull the strap tighter). My 3 year old son has also used this car seat and it works so well for him we are purchasing another in red for him. He is 40 inches tall and 40 lbs.Pros:Click Tight Technology: Seriously easy to do and will give you a rock solid install on your first attempt. This alone is bringing us back to purchase another for our younger son, who has a perfectly decent car seat that is a pain to install.Extended harness: I really believe in keeping kids harnessed for longer and this will get you there!Easy the change harness height: We already had this feature on her old car seat, but I have to say it is a must when looking at options! This makes it easy to switch between kids or when you notice they have gotten too tall for their current position.Fabric: I like the feel of the fabric and it seems easy to clean on the spills it has faced already.Comfort: My daughter says the seat is comfortable and she likes that it has two cup holders to hold toys or snacks for the road. She also has no issues falling asleep in the seat on long car rides to my in laws house.Cons:HEAVY... even my husband was shocked! Don't tell yourself you will be lugging this across the airport on your back... I can't even imagine! We won't be moving it much from car to car, so this isn't a big deal for us. It may be an issue for some, so just letting you know! The release button for the harness straps is a bit far back than typical. Three inches or so back into the fabric of the seat. Once you find it you are good, but my child sized hands take putting my pointer finger the entire way in to push and release. My thumb is too short to access the release button.I am not really phased by the cons I listed and really feel this is an amazing seat. I think the one star review got a defective seat as my daughter is very tall for her age and still has plenty of room to grow in the harness (another 10 inches to be exact!).Buy the seat... you won't be disappointed!Update 7/8/2013: We now have three of these seats. One in each Cactus Flower, Onyx, and Congo. We love these seats so much, but I must say that from a cleaning aspect I really like the Cactus Flower print as well as the Congo print. We have been considering sending back the Onyx one and trading for another Congo. The only reason is that the Onyx print is a velour type fabric everywhere it is solid black and it already is collecting dust as well as being more difficult to clean spills. We still love these seats, but wish the Onyx had come in a more nylon type fabric like Congo.

46 of 57 people found the following review helpful. With the clicktight system Britax has finally leveled the playing field with Römer, its European partner company. Maxi Cosi has had a similar clicktight system in European car seats for a decade, yet American car seat manufacturers were slow to catch on.When I first moved to the U.S. I could not believe how incredibly tedious installing a car seat with the lap-shoulder belt could be. Here I was, kneeling into our Boulevard trying to get the belt as tight as possible only having to release it because I was nto able to close the red or blue interceptors (or whatever you call them). I kept telling my husband that the Maxi Cosis we had in Europe were a breeze with the level system which would tighten the lap/shoulder belt for you.I installed our Frontier today and what a breeze it was. Thread it through and push the back down *click* and the seat does not move. Quick and easy! Some have commented on the release button being located too far inwards. Well, I actually do think that Britax changed the location of the release button deliberately. A few days ago our 2,5 year old son managed to unbuckle himself in the Boulevard while driving. Mind you, this is pretty much impossible with European car seats and a huge flaw in Britax's design. No child riding in a 5 point harness under the age of 5 should be able to unbuckle herself. Yes, I know, it's convenient when your child can get in and out of the seat himself, but a 3 year old should not manage to unbuckle himself in the first place. This has absolutely nothing to do with whether your child is well behaved or not; we all know that even the most obedient children have their moments and I certainly wouldn't want one of these moments to occur while I am driving. I'd rather have a release button that is more difficult to reach and a buckle that is harder to open than the convenience of my 3 or 4 year old being able to unbuckle herself. So far, there is nothing that I do not like about this seat. It even reclines :D
