The 2013 Cybex Aton infant car seat can be used from 4-32 lbs. or 30 inches. It provides deep side impact protection and includes a convenient stay-in car adjustable base. A luxurious infant insert, European styling, a sleek hidden canopy and a carrier weight of around 8 lbs. round out the Aton's benefits. The Aton can be combined with color coordinating CYBEX strollers creating some of the lightest Travel Systems available. It can also be used with Maxi Cosi adaptors on many other strollers. The Cybex Aton offers an industry first, super easy - super secure belt tensioning system - no fuss struggling to install the Aton's stay in car base with either LATCH lower connectors or vehicle se at belts. It is designed to the toughest European testing requirements. All steel "base to bucket" connection for a secure installation of the carrier to the base. Extra bases are available to be purchased separately. Comes with a set of Cybex Latch Guides for easy installation and less damage to vehicle seats.

This was the ONLY car seat we found that fit our Jeep AND had an adaptor (Maxi Cosi) for the (discontinued) Bugaboo Frog stroller.Minus 0.2 stars because - we don't like the short canopy and the handle has to be in a specific position to adjust the canopy, but we put a car seat cover to protect the baby and its fine.Comes w/ base even though its not in all the pictures. The base is great. Hard to explain but the base has a panel that you lift and put the belt under. Then when you snap the panel down it cinches the belt tighter so it feels more secure. (We have a 1999 Jeep Cherokee that doesn't have Latch. The Jeep seat buckles are too long for most other brand bases so they don't secure the base as tightly as the Cybex Aton.)Also in the car, the handle is supposed to be up when driving . In most other brands the handle is down driving. When we got it checked by CHP, they weren't convinced. We had to show them the manual (which is in a hard to access slot underneath the car seat). It was hard to research the difference with the Aton 2, but the Aton 2 has some sort of pole that's meant to stabilize it to the car floor. The product description of the Aton 2 heavily promotes the side impact protection and European standards (so not sure if it's the European version).
