2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.I purchased this product from Amazon over a year ago, although i can't find my original review to edit it. We've used this carseat/stroller on 6 long-haul international flights 7+ hours as well as 16 flights under 5 hours. We bring no stroller (use strollers left at each in-laws' house and have one primary at home) when we visit the grandparents who live in different countries. Our only luggage (aside from 2 checked bags) is a rolling carry-on for extra baby essentials and a diaper bag. We usually purchase a seat for the long flights and use the Sit N Stroll as a carseat. It has fit in the narrow seat of the smaller jets (not sure of plane description, but the type of planes used on 1 hour flights 1x2 seats per row) every time. In most planes, the plane's seat belt can buckle over the seat securing it in case of turbulence. In cases where it doesn't fit, a seatbelt extender, provided by the flight attendant, is an easy fix. My child has been able to sleep comfortably from the age of 3 months until now (She is 16 months and 31 inches tall/23 lbs). In my first review, i commented on how cumbersome and awkward it was for me to convert the seat to a stroller while holding in the air with a child. While it may still be true, i find, that if traveling with my husband, he has no problem doing this and even has a routine down for when he exits the plane. I felt the need to revise my previous post because we just came back from a 26 hour journey across the world with 4 plane changes and i was so impressed by it's function. The Sit N Stroll has really made it's mark on our family and i don't know how we could ever travel without it. Our usual stroller use is from the taxi to security to the gate, on the plane, and even going short distances at our destination. We received many compliments and many marveled at how we took her out of the plane in a carseat, then just rolled away. In a few instances, the personnel at the ticket counter gave us a gate check tag because they doubted our ability to fit it on the plane. One piece of advice is to care for that FAA sticker on the side. I've had to show it almost every time. On the international flights, it was almost rejected due to not having met the standards of that country. They prefer to have seats approved by the their government. I've noticed the Sit N Stroll is getting harder to find at online retailers and am really trying to find the new black version before it disappears. It was expensive, but after our last trip, we feel like it was a very good investment for frequent fliers.
